Money Doesn't Buy Happiness

In this video, R' Joey Haber speaks about the difference between wealth and happiness. He reminds us that wealth can't buy happiness, and that real satisfaction comes from the neshama. He explains that there are two parts to a person: the body and the soul. The body may feel good- in the short term- by material things, like a new car or a new house. But the neshama is satisfied only through spiritual pursuits, like learning Torah or doing maasim tovim. When we try to satisfy our souls with material things, it's like we're delivering something to the wrong house. The soul needs spiritual food, and the best spiritual food is learning Torah.

There is nothing greater we can do for our neshama than to learn a Mishna, and imagine if you can learn a Mishna and also bring another neshama into the world. There is no great opportunity.
